Cut the cost of your wedding
It's difficult to think about cutting the costs on your wedding, but here are some expenses you may be able to reduce without ruining your day.
Do you need to...
1). Get married on the weekend?
Weekday weddings can be cheaper.
2). Invite so many people?
The main cost of most weddings is the catering costs, so why not invite fewer people to your ceremony and reception and invite your more casual friends to the evening party? Or have an evening party on a different night for other friends.
3). Buy a wedding dress?
How about hiring a wedding dress, or get someone you know who is a good seamstress to make you one.
4). Fancy wedding stationary?
How about making your own stationary, and make it really personal, these days there are lots of card making kits available, or you get a PC program to do it for you.
5). Expensive Wedding Cake?
After all it's only going to cut up and eaten with a tea or coffee, how about getting friends or family to make you a cake?
6). A Posh Chauffeur driven car?
May be you know someone with a nice car who could help you out, then get them to drive or a friend, but check out insurance.
7). Pay for everyone's drinks all night?
It would be better to set a side a fixed amount for the bar bill, and once that's gone let people pay for their own, or make sure people know that the bar is a ‘cash bar’ on the invites, guests will then know to bring money with them for their drinks.
8). A luxurious honeymoon?
How about a long weekend somewhere in the UK may be just as good, and it's an option more and more couples are now considering.
